Teaching Preschoolers about Spring with Activities

Posted on 05-01-2017

Spring is in full bloom and it’s a great time to learn about it because summer is just around the corner. Your preschooler will have a lot of fun with these activities, and you’re sure to enjoy it too. All you need are a few simple supplies, and you’re good to go!

Make swirling snail art with your preschooler.

This fun and simple springtime art takes a paper plate, washable paint, paper to match the paint, a chenille stem, and googly eyes. Squirt the paint on the paper plate and let your preschooler swirl the paint around with their fingers until it covers the whole plate. Then just add on the accessories, and you have a snail! Check out the instructions here.

Make preschool fun with paper plate birds.

Who knew you could do so much with paper plates? Your little one will have so much fun making these little birds. Gather a few simple supplies like glue, construction paper, craft feathers, and googly eyes to make these adorable little creatures. Paint the plate, and after it dries, glue on the colorful craft feathers to make these birds come alive.

Show your preschooler a baby bird hatching.

Has your little one ever wondered where birds come from? Watch this awesome video of a little robin hatching from its egg that’s up in the nest of a big tree. This 8-minute video will give a close-up view of the hatching process, and the newborn little bird is too cute! Your preschooler is sure to enjoy this video and parents will probably find it fascinating too!

In addition to these ideas, don’t forget that you can always pick wildflower bouquets together, go on picnic lunches, and play I-Spy with the clouds in the sky!
